Months after stepping down from the board of trustees of the controversial National Cathedral Project, the Founder of the Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan William has spoken for the first time giving reasons why he left the role.
According to the Clergyman, he was not in the position to make any positive impact serving on the board, hence his decision to step down.
He and three other clergymen serving on the board resigned from their position on the board of trustees of the National Cathedral project in October 2023 citing a lack of transparency.
He spoke during a collaborative dialogue with some prophets in Accra.
“Let the good of Ghana be above any loyalty to any political party. People have always asked me which political party I belong to because sometimes they say I am NDC and sometimes they say I am NPP.
“They say I was NPP because I was on the National Cathedral Board, it was one of the reasons I delayed stepping down after a while when I had some concerns. One of the reasons I left is I believe if I am in a place and I can’t make a difference, then it is better I leave quietly. I don’t want to become an enemy. I don’t like fighting people,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Peace Council has urged prophets to refrain from predicting the outcome of elections saying it has the potential to create unnecessary tensions and divide their congregations who belong to different political groupings.
