The Managing Director of BH Fertagro Gh. Ltd., Robert Kwabena Ayitey has been adjudged the 2023 Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GNCCI).
This happened at the 4th edition of its prestigious Chamber Business Awards held last Friday at the Accra International Conference Centre.
It was in recognition of Mr. Ayitey’s exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and massive transformation of BH Fertagro Gh. Ltd. (a company he founded in 2019) to become one of Ghana’s most trusted agricultural input dealership. The fertilizer company which was celebrating its five years anniversary on 26th September 2024, a day before the prestigious award event, also won the ‘Agribusiness Of The Year’.
The distinguished annual Chamber Business Awards is a hallmark event, celebrating outstanding businesses and individuals across Ghana who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, innovation, and sustainable business practices. Since its inception, the Awards have earned a reputation for its credibility, transparency, and integrity.
This year’s event, which was on the theme “Adaptability and Innovation in a Green Economy through Collaboration” was held under the distinguished patronage of His Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, who was the Special Guest of Honor.
The event also brought together industry leaders, professionals and policy makers to honour outstanding achievements and discuss the future of doing sustainable business in Ghana.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Robert Kwabena Ayitey indicated that his only motivation for starting and driving BH Fertagro Gh. Ltd. is to provide quality but affordable agricultural inputs (fertilizers, seeds, and agronomy services) to help farmers get the best out of their cultivations. He was however pleased that his approach, services and results have received such a prestigious national recognition in a record time.

“Thank you, Ghana, for believing in young talents and giving us a chance to serve you better” he concluded.
The 4th Chamber Business Awards also recognized BH Fertagro Gh. Ltd., as the “Agribusiness Company of the Year 2023”.
In it’s 5yrs in operations, the company has remarkably deployed different formulations of high-quality fertilizer onto the market – as a major impetus for strengthening climate-smart agricultural practices and works through last-mile distributors and retailers across Ghana and within the West African Sub-region – especially, Burkina Faso, Cote D'Ivoire and Togo.
Earlier this year and as part of its corporate social responsibilities, BH Fertagro Ghana Ltd. donated over GHC90,000 worth of fertilizers and other assorted items to the Nsawam Prison Complex to support their farming and inmate maintenance efforts. During the 2023 Akosombo dam spillage, the company also presented over GH₵100,000 worth of relief items to the people of Mepe, Bator, Sogakope and its environs.
