Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on the people of Bawku to prioritize peace as a vital pathway to sustainable development.
This message was central during her visit to the palace of the Bawku Naaba on Friday, part of her two-day campaign tour in the Upper East Region.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence in building a strong foundation for development within Bawku and its surrounding areas.
She encouraged the community to focus on unity and work collaboratively toward progress, underscoring that lasting peace would benefit all aspects of local life and governance.
"Let us make peace a priority," she urged, calling on the residents to commit to harmony for the growth of the region.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang's message resonated with many, as she emphasised the link between peace and sustainable community development, hoping to inspire a shared vision for a more unified Bawku.
In response, David Adoliba, Secretary to the Bawku Naaba, expressed gratitude for her visit and for the NDC’s dedication to promoting peace in the region.
He praised Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s emphasis on unity, noting that her appeal aligns closely with the values upheld by the Bawku Naaba and the community at large.
