The Second Lady of Ghana, Samira Bawumia, has called on Ghanaians to support her husband, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, in the upcoming general elections.
She emphasised that his leadership qualities, such as integrity, intelligence, and a problem-solving approach, are essential for addressing the nation’s current challenges and fulfilling the aspirations of the youth.
Speaking at the launch of a book organised by her "Samira Bawumia Literacy Prize" initiative in Accra on Monday, November 18, the Second Lady expressed confidence in her husband's ability to tackle the country’s challenges.
She highlighted Dr Bawumia's innovative ideas and deep sense of responsibility as key factors that set him apart as a leader capable of bringing about meaningful change.
Samira Bawumia stressed that Dr Bawumia’s vision for the future of Ghana is centred on creating opportunities for the youth and developing sustainable solutions to the nation’s problems.
She added that his track record in leadership demonstrates his commitment to improving the lives of all Ghanaians.
“He has solutions to our problems. Dr Bawumia is a very intelligent man. He is an honest man. He works very hard and applies himself, and this is a man bursting with ideas and doesn’t always do the same things and expects different results.”
“Bawumia is always thinking outside the box, and I think that is the kind of leadership we need as young people. We need somebody who will leapfrog Ghana’s development. We need somebody who can look beyond where we are at and say, ‘Look, we can do better and we can do it in a faster way to get to where we are going',” she said.
