Former Ghana captain Abedi Ayew Pele has charged the Black Galaxies players to give their all when they challenge for a spot at next year’s CHAN tournament.
Ghana face Nigeria in two-legged game later this month looking to secure a slot at the main tournament.
As part of their preparations, the team played a friendly against Abedi’s Nania FC at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Mas-Ud Didi Dramani’s side finished the game on the winning side as they beat Nania by a goal to nil.
For the Abedi, the game was an opportunity to speak to the national team players as he charged them to be devoted to their calling.
“When you are born in this country and you are playing for the nation team, the bond, the hunger to succeed, the courage, the determination is paramount,” he told the team.
“Try to do your possible best for your nation and that is what I am seeing now. I saw that, not only the physical strength but also tactically well-organised.
“It’s a very good pleasure for my team [Nania FC] to have this experience to play against you.”
Ghana face Nigeria in the first leg on December 22 at the Accra Sports Stdium before being on the road for the return fixture a week later.
