A Rare Honor Recognizing Exceptional Service
The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a unique distinction in the Canadian honors system. It is the only medal specifically created to commemorate the coronation of a monarch. With only 30,000 medals to be awarded across Canada, receiving this honor is a testament to the recipient's outstanding service and commitment to their communities.

Celebrating Dr. Fankah-Arthur's Dedication to Diversity and Leadership
Dr. Fankah-Arthur, President and founder of the Center for Intellectual Excellence, was recognized for her unwavering dedication to promoting diversity and leadership. Her work, including the annual World Diversity and Leadership Conference, has fostered dialogue and created opportunities for marginalized groups.
The medal presentation acknowledged Dr. Fankah-Arthur's significant contributions to "the dialogue on leadership and strength in diversity," underscoring the impact of her work in building a more inclusive society.

The Medal Reflects King Charles III's Vision of Service
The King Charles III Coronation Medal not only honors the recipients' achievements but also embodies the values championed by the monarch himself. At his coronation, King Charles III declared his commitment to service, stating, "I come not to be served but to serve."
The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, representing the King, highlighted this sentiment during the ceremony, drawing a parallel between King Charles III's dedication and the recipients' commitment to their communities. He emphasized the values of compassion, community, integrity, and leadership, which are reflected in the work of those receiving the medal.
