The Accredited Kingmakers, Elders, and Representatives of the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase have firmly rebutted a recent press release issued by Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II, who they state lacks the legal and customary authority to act as Ga Paramount Stool Dzasetse.
In a statement dated 6th December 2024, signed by the Executive Secretary of the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase, Joe K. D. O. Benne, the group clarified that Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II has been restrained from performing the functions of Ga Paramount Stool Dzasetse since 9th August 2010. The statement discredited his claims and dismissed the legitimacy of his press release dated 4th December 2024.
The Ga Paramount Stool Dzase emphasised that the substantive and legitimate Ga Paramount Stool Dzasetse is Nii Dr. Tetteh Kwei II, who was enstooled on 23rd January 2006 and officially gazetted on 21st December 2022. The release reiterated that Nii Dr. Tetteh Kwei II possesses the legal and customary authority to enstool the Ga Mantse.
Citing the gazette and customary procedures, the Dzase noted:

"The substantive Ga Mantse was customarily and legally enstooled by Nii Dr. Tetteh Kwei II on 20th October 2017. Since then, he has performed his duties and functions with merit, without fear or favour."
The press release urged the public, including the Ga people and all media houses, to disregard the statement issued by Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II. It described the statement as illegitimate and unrepresentative of the views or authority of the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase.
"The purported press release dated 4th December 2024 by Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II should be ignored with the contempt it deserves," the statement read.
This rebuttal follows a speech delivered by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Ga Traditional Council on 2nd December 2024, which appears to have triggered the contested statement. The Accredited Kingmakers and Elders reiterated their commitment to ensuring the sanctity of the Ga Paramount Stool and maintaining peace and order within the traditional council.
