The Progressive Alliance of Ghana has extended heartfelt congratulations to President-elect John Mahama on his resounding victory in the 2024 General Elections.
It describes his win as a rare second chance to steer the nation towards a brighter future.
“To have a second chance to lead a nation is a rare opportunity, and we trust and pray that God will give you all that you need to serve all the 34 million people of this country equitably and to the best of your ability,” stated Dr John Kpikpi, Leader of the Progressive Alliance, in a press release.
The Alliance acknowledged the immense responsibility that comes with such a mandate and called on the incoming government to adopt a collaborative approach to addressing the country’s pressing challenges.
“We recommend a broad national consultation beyond the reaches of your party,” the statement emphasised, urging Mahama to draw on the wealth of “rich and positive nation-building ideas” from caring Ghanaians worldwide.
While congratulating Mahama, the Progressive Alliance hoped his leadership would help restore Ghana from its current difficulties.
“We wish you the very best in your stewardship over the next four years and that you will be able, with God’s help, to lift our nation from its current abyss to a better place where all our people will live in integrity, happiness, and prosperity.”
The group underscored the importance of fairness, integrity, and national unity in the administration’s efforts to address the nation’s challenges.
“God bless you and your incoming administration, and God bless our homeland Ghana,” the statement concluded.
Dr. Kpikpi’s message reflects the hope and expectation of many Ghanaians for a transformative and inclusive tenure under Mahama’s leadership.
