Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has acknowledged the imperfections of governance, stating that no political party can claim to run a perfect government.
Speaking in Parliament while reflecting on the outgoing administration, Mr Afenyo-Markin admitted that while in power, mistakes were made despite the government’s commitment to implementing its policies.
“Indeed, no party can run a perfect government in this country. When you get into government, whilst you are happy to implement your policies, you are likely to make some mistakes. We concede that some mistakes were made. We concede that we couldn't have done everything perfectly.”
In a moment of humility, he accepted the verdict of the electorate in the just-ended December 7 election, stating, “The people have spoken. We've accepted it.” However, Afenyo Markin also sounded a note of caution, expressing confidence that time would reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the incoming administration.

“The coming days and years will reveal the true colours of this umbrella,” he said, alluding to the opposition party poised to take over governance.
He emphasized the vigilance of the current majority as they transition into opposition.
The Effuto MP further lauded the Speaker of Parliament for his leadership over the past four years, particularly in prioritizing the welfare of Members of Parliament and empowering the institution of parliament.
