President-elect John Dramani Mahama has established a team to gather and receive information from the public regarding suspected acts of corruption.
According to a press statement issued on Wednesday, December 18, and signed by the Spokesperson of the Mahama Transition Team, the newly formed body will serve as a conduit for citizens to report corruption-related issues.
The statement highlighted President-elect Mahama’s dedication to addressing corruption comprehensively and ensuring that public resources are managed responsibly.
The team is chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu. Other members include notable individuals such as former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.
Their collective expertise is expected to enhance the effectiveness of this anti-corruption initiative.
This development according to the statement is part of a broader effort by the Mahama administration to restore public trust and strengthen institutions tasked with combating corruption.
The team’s work is expected to complement existing mechanisms while encouraging citizen participation in the fight against corruption.
