Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has assured Ghana’s youth that the nation’s prospects remain promising, despite current challenges.
In his heartfelt Christmas message on Tuesday, the Speaker highlighted Ghana’s enduring reputation as a trailblazer for democracy and a source of inspiration for African nations.
“Please, the youth, more importantly, the future is bright. I can assure you that Ghana is on the right path. We still remain the beacon of hope, the beacon of democracy, and the country that our colleagues on the African continent are looking up to. Ghana is still seen as the Mecca of the Black race,” Bagbin affirmed.
Acknowledging past missteps, Bagbin emphasised Ghana’s 32-year journey in multiparty democracy as a cornerstone of its global admiration.
“We might have faulted, but people still look up to us. Particularly as we have maintained this multiparty democracy for 32 good years.
"The fact that we are being eulogized by other countries is something that will fulfill and keep our spirit in a good mood to go on,” he added.
Concluding his message, the Speaker extended warm wishes to all Ghanaians during the festive season.
“I want to take this opportunity again to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May the good Lord continue to bless all of us and keep our nation greater and stronger,” he said.
Speaker Bagbin’s message underscores a call for hope, unity, and resilience as the nation moves forward.
