The office of Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, has rubbished a letter circulating on social media purporting to be an appointment letter issued by the Office of the President.
According to them, the letter, which claims to appoint Mr Kyerematen as Acting Director for the establishment of the proposed 24-hour Economy initiative by President John Mahama is “false.”
In a statement issued on Friday, January 17, and signed by Kwame Owusu Danso, Esq., Special Advisor on Communications to Alan Kyerematen, the office dismissed the letter as a malicious fabrication intended to mislead the public.
The alleged letter, appearing to originate from the Office of President John Dramani Mahama, stated that Mr Kyerematen would be responsible for setting up the 24-Hour economy board and secretariat, a key promise in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.

It also claimed that the appointment reflects President Mahama's commitment to an all-inclusive governance that enhances and ensures the development of the economy.
In light of this, the office of Mr Kyerematen has unequivocally condemned the letter, urging the public to disregard it entirely.
“This blatant attempt to create confusion and misinformation will not be tolerated,” the statement said.
“Please, treat this fake appointment letter with the contempt it deserves.”
The statement further called on citizens to remain vigilant and verify information through credible and official channels to avoid the spread of falsehoods.
