Legon Cities ended a five-game winless run in the Ghana Premier League with an emphatic 3-0 triumph over Dreams FC in a matchweek 17 clash at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The victory lifted the Royals off the bottom of the table for the first time in weeks.
After a goalless first half, Frederick Akatuk opened the scoring with a precise header in the 53rd minute. Frank Akoto doubled the lead with a powerful strike in the 76th minute, and Raymond Agyemang sealed the win in stoppage time (90’+7).
This was the first win under new coach Yaw Acheampong, offering a much-needed boost to their fight against relegation.
For Dreams FC, the loss was a setback after their hard-fought win against Accra Lions in the previous round.
Legon Cities now sit in 17th place, just one point behind 15th-placed Dreams FC.
Up next, Legon Cities host Gold Stars, while Dreams FC travel to Samartex as both teams aim to improve their league positions.
