On Friday in Laayoune, during the Fifth Session of the Morocco-Côte d'Ivoire Great Joint Cooperation Commission, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Ivorians Abroad, Léon Kacou Adom, reaffirmed Côte d'Ivoire's steadfast support for the Kingdom of Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory.
Speaking at a press conference following his meeting with Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, Minister Adom reiterated his country's endorsement of Morocco's autonomy plan.
He emphasised that the plan represents the only credible and realistic solution to resolve the regional dispute.
Minister Adom also commended the United Nations' efforts, recognizing them as the exclusive framework for achieving a realistic, practical, and lasting resolution to the Sahara issue.
In response, Minister Bourita expressed gratitude to Côte d'Ivoire for its unwavering and resolute support of Morocco's territorial integrity.
He highlighted Côte d'Ivoire's clear stance on the Moroccan Sahara, notably reflected in the opening of its Consulate General in Laâyoune in 2020.
