The Ghana Tennis Club, Ghana’s oldest tennis club, has inaugurated a new executive team to steer the club’s affairs for the next two years. The executives were introduced at the club’s first general meeting for 2025.
Dr. Oppong Adjei Abraham, popularly called Dr. A.B., a Manager of Occupational Health and Employee Wellness at Total House Clinic, returns as Chairman of the club after serving from 2018 to 2020. He was declared elected by the club’s Electoral Commissioned, Mr. Yaw Agyei after standing unopposed. His election reflects the confidence members have in his leadership.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Abraham expressed his gratitude and pledged his commitment to working with members of the club to grow the club. “It is a privilege to return as Chairman of this illustrious club and together with my team of executives, we shall do our very best to uplift the club,” he said. “Together, we will strengthen the bonds amongst us, enhance the club’s facilities, and build a lasting legacy of excellence for generations to come.”
Other members of the executive team are:
- Daniel Addo, Managing Director of Hollard Insurance Ghana Ltd, as Vice Chairman.
- Aaron Eggley, Managing Director of HughEggley Marketing Ltd, who resumes his role as Club Captain.
- Edinam Awo Amewode, Manager at Green Orange (Citrus Juice Production), as Secretary.
- Robert Abossey Addo, Senior Manager at Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd, as Treasurer.
Outgoing Chairman Joe Nii Armah congratulated the new executives and praised their dedication. “I am confident this team will take the Ghana Tennis Club to even greater heights,” he remarked.
The General Meeting provided an opportunity for the new executives to share their vision for the club, which includes plans to improve facilities and, increase membership engagement, and social events. Members were optimistic about the future, applauding the team’s commitment.
With their tenure running until January 2027, the new executives pledged to uphold the club’s values while driving its growth and success.
