The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, has announced plans to prioritise road improvement this year.

During a tour of various agencies under the ministry on Monday, he affirmed his commitment to focusing on road maintenance across the country.
He also highlighted the urgent need to improve the condition of Ghana's road network to support economic growth and enhance the quality of life for citizens.
Mr Agbodza stressed the importance of ensuring that road projects are sustainable and provide value for money. As part of his strategy, he plans to seek professional advice on whether to classify incomplete projects as active or put them on hold until funding becomes available.

In his remarks, Mr Agbodza, who is also the Member of Parliament for Adaklu, expressed his intention to advocate for the removal of the cap on the Roads Fund, arguing that the current limitations are detrimental to the road sector.

The Minister pledged to work closely with staff, contractors, and other stakeholders to address the challenges facing the sector, emphasising that it is his responsibility to find solutions.
