The Minister-nominee for Communications, Samuel George, has condemned what he describes as "despicable behavior" displayed by Ranking member of the Appointment Committee, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, towards a Clerk to the committee.
The Minority MPs on the committee accused Gifty Jiagge Gobah of sidelining them in key areas of the vetting process, especially on the night of Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa's session.
They asserted that during the previous administration, the same clerk had ensured that the then-Minority received draft reports before they were signed.
I am appalled at the despicable behaviour of @AfenyoMarkin towards Madam Gifty Jiagge Gobah - the Clerk to the Appointments Committee of @parliament_gh.

In a post shared on X on Sunday, February 2, Sam George expressed his outrage over what he described as "shameful" and "misogynistic" conduct.
He claimed that such behavior was unbecoming of a leader in the august House, adding that he was certain Mr Afenyo-Markin would not have acted in a similar manner toward a male Clerk.
"I am appalled at the despicable behaviour of @AfenyoMarkin towards Madam Gifty Jiagge Gobah," Sam George wrote.
He added "This shameful behaviour is unbecoming of a Leader of the august House. I am absolutely certain he would not have dared to do this to a male Clerk of Parliament."
Sam George stressed that she deserves the respect that comes with her position, and called on all well-meaning members of society, as well as Parliament, to condemn the actions.
The MP further urged the Clerk of Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, to raise the issue formally with the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
He noted that after Parliament passed the Affirmative Action Law, the institution could not allow such "uncouth behavior" to go unchecked.
"Madam Gifty Jiagge Gobah, I and many more decent people stand with you," Sam George added in his post.
"Be encouraged and stand strong with your head held high. Your poise and composure even when you were under the barrage of insults is remarkable. Such a role model for our daughters." Sam George said, sharing some words of encouragement to Mrs Gobah.
