As the date for this year’s edition of Ghana Dance Industry Awards draws near, conversations about who deserves to win awards in the various categories, have started.
Ahead of the event, the Dancer of the Year, which is the ultimate award has already stoked controversy. Nominated in this category are Dancegod Llyod, Afronitaaa, Endurance Grand, Incredible Zigi, Bboy Lyricx, Ezunte Flex.
Avid fans of the various nominees have taken to social media to show their support for them, outlining the contributions of the dancers to the dance industry in the year under review.
Other categories include Dance Athlete of the Year, Traditional Dance Group of the Year, Street Dance Group of the Year and Praise Dance Group of the Year.
There will also be various honourary awards which will be presented to dancer industry individuals gleaned from the various sectors of Ghana's dance industry.
The GHADI Awards aims at honouring Ghanaian dance icons and stakeholders who have contributed to the development of dance in the year under review.
The Ghana Dance Industry Awards is expected to bring together all the players in the dance fraternity as some of them perform at a grand ceremony on the night.
The maiden edition held in 2021, honoured dance legends Adjetey Sowah, Akosua Agyapong, Reggie Rockstone, Terry Bright Ofosu, and twenty other dance personalities and institutions,
The annual Ghana Dance Industry Awards is supported by the Dancers & DanceSport Association of Ghana (DDASPAG) and powered by Dancetera, your dance channel.
The 2025 edition of GHADI, which is the second, will be held at the National Theatre on February 8, 2025.
