Joy Prime, in partnership with School for Life, is set to hold a dialogue to review the Free SHS Education Policy and assess the sustainability of the initiative.
The dialogue seeks to engage key stakeholders within the education sector, soliciting their opinions on the progress of the policy since its inception in 2017 by the New Patriotic Party administration.
Considering the impact of the policy and the change in the ruling government, the conversation will be tilted toward critically examining the policy’s successes, challenges, and future prospects under the theme: Free SHS: Sustaining Access, Enhancing Quality, Securing the Future
The 3-hour dialogue will take place at the Joy Prime studios in Kokomlele on Friday, February 14, at 10 a.m. It will also be telecast live on JoyNews.
Key areas to be discussed include policy sustainability and funding, the quality of education and learning outcomes, infrastructure and resource allocation, policy review and reform proposals, governance and political influence, equity and inclusion, and the role of stakeholders in the enhancement of the policy.
The dialogue aims to shape the future of Ghana’s education system by ensuring that reforms are well-informed, inclusive, and sustainable. It also looks forward to thoroughly exploring how Ghana can sustain Free SHS while enhancing quality, equity, and efficiency in the education sector
This conversation is all-inclusive, as it will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube. Interested parties are encouraged to join virtually and share their views, with social media interactivity available for online audiences.
