Former Ghana U-17 boss Laryea Kingston has advised the new Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, not to ‘fight’ the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in a bid to ensure things are run properly.
There have been many calls for the Minister to turn his attention to the FA as part of ensuring Ghana football returns to its glory days.
Kingston, who cited interference from the FA as part of his decision to surprising quit the Black Starlets job, believes things need to be properly done by the ministry.
“I’m urging the government to put their feet down,” he said in an interview with Joy Sports.
“They shouldn’t go in to fight the FA, because FIFA doesn’t allow that, but they should use their diplomatic powers to ensure measures are put in place to ensure the FA is run properly.”
Since leaving his role as head coach of the U-17 side, Kingston has been in charge of RPS Academies in the US.
