Kofi Obeng Ayirebi has been inducted as the 57th President of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS), vowing to prioritize the passage of the Surveying Council Bill to enhance industry standards.
His investiture marked the highlight of the 20th Surveyors' Week and the 56th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Addressing the media, Mr Ayirebi, formerly the Senior Vice President of GhIS, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him.
He outlined his vision to regulate the profession, engage the public about the role of surveyors, and sanitize the industry to curb malpractices.

Immediate past President Dr Anthony Arko-Adjei acknowledged the strides made during his tenure but emphasised the need for further reforms.
Guest speaker Apostle Alexander Larbi urged surveyors to uphold transparency and professionalism.
The Surveying Council Bill, when passed, will regulate both members and non-members, safeguard industry integrity, and ensure value-for-money services.
With growing concerns over unregistered practitioners and malpractices, stakeholders are calling for urgent government action to accelerate the bill’s passage.
The week-long celebration, themed "Emerging Global Technologies: Implications for Surveying Practice in Ghana," focused on digital transformation and its impact on the profession.
