Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew, has played down suggestions of friction within the playing body.
There has been some talk of fractured relationships and infighting in the team, especially following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
However, in an exclusive interview with Joy Sports, the Leicester City forward mounted a spirited defense of his teammates, describing the relationship in camp as that of a ‘family.’
Jordan on supposed friction between players
“Obviously we are not best friends, because everyone is different and has who they’re closest to.
“But just like a family, the fact that you’re closer to your sister doesn’t mean you don’t love your brother.
“There’s no problem or friction within the team, and I’m yet to see any problem whatsoever. We’re like brothers,” he said.
Ayew scored 9 goals in 13 appearances for Ghana last year, and will be hoping to continue his fine form with the national team when Ghana hosts Chad in a FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday.
