The National Theatre of Ghana will host a special event to honor the life and legacy of Mawuli Yao Semevo, celebrating his immense contribution to the performing arts.
Titled A Night to Remember Mawuli Yao Semevo, the event will take place on Thursday, March 27, at 6:30 pm at the main auditorium of the National Theatre.
Mawuli Semevo passed away on Thursday, February 20, at the Ridge Hospital after succumbing to injuries sustained in a fire incident.

Known for his exceptional acting skills, both on stage and in films, Semevo featured in several productions, including Harvest at 17, A Stab in the Dark, Escape of Love, Like Cotton Twines, and The Good Old Days: The Love of AA.
The tribute night will bring together key figures from Ghana’s arts and culture sector to reflect on Semevo’s impact and celebrate his invaluable contribution to theatre and performance.
The event will include performances, tributes, and storytelling sessions, honoring a man whose dedication shaped the country’s performing arts landscape.
