Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew, has thanked Ghanaians for their “unwavering support” during the just ended international break.
In an emotional open letter to the fans, the 33 year old gave assurances of the team’s resolve to make things right after their failure to qualify for the AFCON later this year.
Ghana recorded successive wins for the first time in nine months, with 5-0 and 3-0 victories over Chad and Madagascar respectively, to boost their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying hopes.
“On behalf of my colleagues, I'd like to extend our sincerest gratitude for your unwavering support during our recent
2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
“Your infectious energy, passion, and loyalty inspire us, and we're deeply honored to represent this great nation.
Although we faced challenges in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, we're committed to turning things around and making you proud.
“We're working diligently to enhance our game, ensuring we secure the necessary results in the remaining matches to qualify for the World Cup,” he said.
The Leicester City forward pledged to do everything to ensure the team books a place at next year’s World Cup.
“We're not giving up! We're focused on the task ahead, and we're confident that together, we can achieve our goal.
“We'll do everything in our power to make Ghana proud and bring joy to your hearts,” he added.
