Two women have tragically lost their lives in a road accident at Ampekrom Junction on the Accra-Kumasi highway, near Nkawkaw.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, also left the driver and another passenger with life-threatening injuries.

Nkawkaw Municipal Fire Commander, DOII Samuel Mantey, stated that his team swiftly responded to a distress call and rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, they discovered that a cargo truck, with registration number ER 3428-X, had crashed into a DAFF truck parked along the roadside.

The injured victims were immediately transported to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw for emergency treatment, while the bodies of the two deceased women were taken to the hospital’s morgue.
In an interview with Adom News, DOII Mantey urged motorists to exercise extra caution on the roads, especially during the Easter period, to prevent such avoidable tragedies.
