The Deputy Director of Elections and Information Technology of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Rashid Tanko-Computer, says the NDC is happy that the President, John Mahama, has suspended the Chief Justice.
"In fact, as a party, the NDC, we are very much happy, we are so happy, so elated with the decision to suspend her," he said on The Pulse moments after the Presidency announced the Chief Justice's suspension.
According to him, the NDC as a party is happy because "Because we want to bring back the glory of the judiciary."
President John Mahama has suspended the Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo, on Tuesday, April 22.
This follows the establishment of a committee to investigate petitions against the top judicial official.
The move, announced in a statement from the Presidency, is in compliance with constitutional provisions and follows consultations with the Council of State.
