KEK Insurance Brokers, a pioneer in Ghana’s insurance industry, has celebrated 35 years of excellence under the theme: “35 Years of Excellence: Celebrating Our Journey So Far.”
Speaking at a public lecture to mark the 35 years of excellence, the Board Chair for KEK Insurance Brokers Ltd, Felix Addo, called on all stakeholders, including past members of the insurance profession, to play their part in keeping the KEK vision alive.
According to him, there is a need for buyers of insurance products to be vocal and advocate for increased insurance penetration in the country.

He added that the importance of insurance as a risk mitigating mechanism for both personal and corporate entities is underscored, emphasising the need for higher insurance adoption rates.
KEK started off with less than four employees but has grown to become a company that has over eighty employees with subsidiary companies in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire.
In Ghana, KEK has branches in Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tarkwa, Sunyani, and Tamale, with the Head Office located in the Airport Residential Area, Accra.

The public lecture brought personalities together, including Dr Abiba Zachariah, the Ag. Commissioner of Insurance, Samuel Ocran, the Group CEO of Star Assurance, Felix Addo, Board Chair of KEK, and other insurance industry players.
The Managing Director of KEK Insurance Brokers Ltd, Shaibi Ali, said the milestone also serves as a 15-year memorial service honouring the legacy of Founder, Kwesi Essel Koomson, in his demise.
He highlighted some achievements of the company, including the leading insurance broker by market share from 1992 to date, CIIG Insurance Broker of the Year (General and Life) – awarded in 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
