Albert Amoah emerged as the hero for Asante Kotoko on Sunday, netting a late winner against Berekum Chelsea to seal a spot in the MTN FA Cup final for the Porcupine Warriors.
The in-form striker rose above the defenders to power home a precise cross from Baba Yahaya, notching his eighth goal of the season in the process.
Speaking after the game, Amoah opened up about his growing on-field chemistry with fellow forward Kwame Opoku.
“We’ve learned to play to our strengths,” Amoah said.
“I always know where Kwame is positioned when we’re on the attack. It wasn’t like that at first—we didn’t connect well. But now, there’s a strong understanding between us.”
He added, “The coaches and even our fans have spoken to us about our partnership, and that’s really helped us improve how we play together.”
Kotoko will now turn their attention to the MTN FA Cup final, where they’ll face Division One side Golden Kicks, aiming to secure their 10th title in the competition’s history.
