The 7-member committee tasked with investigating what led to the death of Nigerian boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun at the Bukom Arena has submitted its final report to the Minister for Sport and Recreation, Kofi Adams, on 16th May, 2025.
The committee, chaired by Ambassador Major (RTD) Amarkai Amarteifio, was inaugurated on April 8, 2025, and completed its work within the stipulated 21-day ultimatum.
Receiving the report, Hon. Kofi Adams praised the committee for the dedication and commitment to carry out its mandate.
He noted that the Ministry will look into the report and its recommendations and make it public after studying to help the boxing industry and to prevent such occurrences in the future.

He further stated that the recommendations will be implemented to ensure the total reform of boxing and other sporting disciplines.
On his part, the Chairman of the Committee, Ambassador Major RTD Amarkai Amarteifio, indicated that the committee had successfully finished its work and was hopeful the report would tremendously reform the sport.
He further praised his committee members for a good work done and also thanked the health workers at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and all other persons whose contribution had helped to enrich the report.
