Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah is set to address the Futures Forum 2025 at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on Tuesday, May 27.
Dr Omane Boamah participation forms part of Ghana’s ongoing engagement with global academic and policy platforms to share insights on Africa’s development prospects amid growing global uncertainties.
Announcing his engagement on social media, Dr Boamah expressed optimism about Africa’s capacity to chart a new course despite the complex realities facing the continent.

“I return to the London School of Economics and Political Science this morning to speak at the Futures Forum 2025,” he said. “I believe Africa can, will and shall create the Africa We Want within our contested, climate challenged and conflict ridden world.”
Dr Boamah’s comments reflect the broader theme of the Forum, which focuses on how developing regions can build resilient systems in the face of climate change, geopolitical tensions and socio-economic transformation.
The Minister's address is expected to highlight Ghana’s experiences in peacekeeping, climate adaptation and defence cooperation as models for regional stability and progress.
The Minister’s presence at the Forum also underscores the role of African leadership in global discourse on sustainable futures.
“In the midst of complexity lies opportunity,” he noted. “And I am confident that with strategic partnerships and visionary leadership, Africa will shape its own future.”
