After a week of intense intellectual battles, compelling arguments, and spirited showdowns, the Luv FM High Schools Debate is moving into the much-anticipated Round of 16.
The journey so far has been nothing short of electric, with schools across the Ashanti Region showcasing their brilliance and boldness in debating issues of national interest.
Ten schools have successfully booked their spots after out-debating their peers in a series of contests that saw passion, precision, and power on full display.

Among the qualified schools are Oppon Memorial SHS, St. Louis Girls SHS, KNUST SHS, Osei Adutwum SHS, Prempeh College, Prince of Peace Girls, T. I. AMASS Kumasi, Anglican SHS, St. Monica's, and Barekese SHS.
Joining them are four seeded powerhouses from last year's semi-final stage: defending champions Kumasi High School, Church of Christ SHS, Our Lady of Grace SHS, and St. Hubert Seminary. These schools automatically progressed to the Round of 16 due to their exceptional performances in the previous edition.

In an exciting twist, two wildcard entrants, Kumasi Girls SHS and Osei Kyeretwie SHS earned their slots in the next stage despite losing earlier contests. Their high-scoring performances were enough to push them through, underscoring just how competitive this year’s event has become.
So far, the debates have tackled bold motions like tax equity, gender-based policies, free market dynamics, religious pros and cons, social media and controversial education reforms such as the reintroduction of corporal punishment and the role of online learning.

The road ahead is tough. The Round of 16 is not just about debating skills; it’s about strategy, teamwork, quick thinking, and emotional poise.
From former champions like Prempeh College to underdog surprises like Osei Adutwum SHS, each team has a shot at glory—but only if they can outthink and outperform the rest.

The major sponsors of the competition are Jackson University College, Yazz, H&H 4-in-1 Gari Mix, Ecobank Ghana, Zwan, Bonvas Tours and Christian Service University.

Others are St. Ben Jewellery, Dunamist Plast, A.B.A. Herbal Centre, Tradewinds Chemist, Wo Maame Shito, Family Products from Gredee Enterprise, Otuasekan Rural Bank, Robert and Sons Ltd. Optical Services, Best Brain Publications Ltd, Gimpa Kumasi Campus, and Amanano Rural Bank PLC Ltd.
The rest are New Generation Investment Services (NGIS), Royal Mental Arithmetic System (Royalmas), Daksa Dental Clinic, Eselali Empire, Premium Foods, Ultimate Fashion, Flora Tissues and Palm University.
The Luv FM High Schools Debate airs on the Joy Prime and Joy Learning Platforms on MultiTV, Luv 99.5 FM and social media platforms.
