Foreign ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), meeting in Istanbul for the 51st session of their Council on June 21–22, have commended King Mohammed VI.
They praised his continued leadership as Chairman of the Al Quds Committee in protecting the sanctity and identity of Al Quds Asharif.
In a resolution titled “The Capital of the State of Palestine, Al Quds Asharif,” the ministers lauded the impactful role of the Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency—the executive arm of the Committee—in executing vital development projects that support the resilience of the city’s population.
The Istanbul Declaration also acknowledged the efforts of King Mohammed VI and the Al Quds Committee in preserving Al Quds as a symbol of peaceful coexistence among the three Abrahamic faiths and in safeguarding its internationally recognised legal status.
The 51st OIC Foreign Ministers’ Council wrapped up its deliberations with the adoption of the Istanbul Declaration and a series of resolutions tackling pressing political, economic, and cultural issues across the Islamic world.
