To cater to the growing number of outbound travellers to the United Kingdom, VFS Global has announced the opening of a new Premium Application Centre in Kumasi for UK visa applicants.

This new facility complements the state-of-the-art Visa Application Centre already operational in Accra, located on the Mezzanine Floor, Grand Oyeeman, South Liberation Road, Airport area, which has been serving customers since October 2024.

The UK continues to be a top destination for African travellers, with Ghana ranked among the top ten nationalities applying for UK visit visas.

“We are delighted to expand UK visa application services to customers outside Accra,” said Keith McMahon, Chargé d’affaires at the British High Commission.

“Kumasi and the Ashanti Region are a crucial part of the UK-Ghana partnership, and we hope to welcome more travellers from Ghana to the UK.”

Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, added: “We are pleased to open the additional, conveniently located Premium Application Centre for our UK visa customers in Kumasi.

"This helps us cater to a larger number of travellers, offering the same comfort, convenience, and best-in-class services available in Accra.”

Customers using the Kumasi centre will have access to several value-added services, including assistance with document uploads, real-time status notifications, and courier return of documents.

They can also book the Keep My Passport While Applying service, allowing them to retain their passports after submission and biometric enrolment, and only return them once a decision is made.

VFS Global has been a partner to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) since 2003, offering services in 58 countries before securing a new contract in 2023 to provide UK visa services across 142 countries worldwide.
