Presidential Adviser on the 24-Hour Economy policy, Goosie Tanoh, has described the initiative as a “living programme” anchored in science and guided by firm social democratic values, but one that remains adaptable in the face of changing circumstances.
Speaking at the official launch of the programme in Accra, Mr Tanoh emphasised the dynamic nature of the 24-Hour Economy strategy, noting that its success lies not in rigid implementation but in its capacity to evolve over time.
“We see the 24-hour programme as a living programme rooted in science and firm social democratic principles, but flexible enough to respond tactically to a changing environment,” he said.
He stressed that continuous learning and adaptation would be central to the policy’s rollout.
“We will learn many lessons along the way and make numerous adjustments. The ball that doesn’t bend always breaks,” Mr Tanoh remarked.
The 24-Hour Economy policy according to government is a flagship programme which aims to boost productivity, expand employment opportunities, and modernise Ghana’s economic infrastructure by encouraging businesses and public services to operate around the clock.
Mr Tanoh stated that the government’s vision is long-term, saying: “This is the only way the programme can transform our society in the short, medium, and long term.”
