Nineteen people sustained injuries, including four in critical condition, following a head-on collision between two Sprinter Benz buses at Awutu Bonsuoku in the Central Region.
The critically injured victims have been transferred to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, while 13 others are receiving treatment at the Hope Christian Hospital in Gomoa Fetteh, and two at the Senya Bereku Polyclinic.

The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on the Gomoa Ojobi–Senya Bereku road in the Awutu Senya West District.
According to eyewitness Kennedy Awuah, residents heard a loud crash and rushed to the scene, where they found the two buses — with registration numbers AC-804-16 and GR 5137-18 — severely damaged in the middle of the road. He suspects one of the drivers may have dozed off while driving.
This suspicion was echoed by Ebenezer Eshun, one of the victims currently receiving care at Hope Christian Hospital. He alleged that the driver of the bus travelling from Kasoa to Senya Bereku was dozing at the wheel at the time of the crash.
Senya Bereku District Police Commander, DSP Kingsley Asante, confirmed the accident and attributed it to both driver fatigue and poor weather conditions.
Police have launched investigations into the incident. Authorities are also urging drivers to exercise caution, especially during early morning hours and under unfavourable weather conditions.
