The Ghana National Armwrestling Team, known as the Golden Arms, has received various forms of support ahead of their participation in the Africa Armwrestling Championship scheduled for next week in Abuja, Nigeria.
Glico Life Insurance has provided travel insurance for the team’s contingent for both the upcoming continental championship and the World Armwrestling Championship in Albena, Bulgaria. The Hope Brand (THB) has also supplied official kits for the team.

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), which has an existing relationship with the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, has offered additional support, including health insurance for the team. The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and OmniBSIC have also contributed through financial or logistical support.
Other institutions such as the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), and SIC Insurance Limited have made commitments towards the team’s participation. Security services including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, and Ghana Prisons Service have also offered various forms of assistance.
The Ghana Armwrestling Federation has acknowledged the backing from both state and private organisations, noting that such support is essential to the team’s preparation. The Federation, however, stopped short of detailing the full extent of the resources received or the terms of the contributions.
Ghana’s team enters the tournament with past victories in 2018 and 2023. Head coach Husseini Akuetteh Addy expressed confidence in the team's chances, saying the athletes are aiming for a strong showing and more medals.
The Africa Armwrestling Championship is expected to feature top athletes from across the continent. Ghana’s performance will likely draw attention from fans and sponsors, especially as the team looks to consolidate its reputation on the continental stage.
