The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) team has clarified how 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) aggregates are calculated for senior high school placements.
According to officials, a candidate’s aggregate is computed by combining grades in the four core subjects—English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies—along with the best two grades from the remaining subjects.
The formula follows:
English + Mathematics + Integrated Science + Social Studies + [two best subjects].
While aggregates play a role, the CSSPS team emphasized that raw scores remain the primary factor in the placement process.
In a notice signed by Ghana Education Service (GES) Public Relations Officer Daniel Fenyi, parents, students, and teachers were reminded that the CSSPS portal is live for candidates to confirm their school choices. The portal can be accessed at https://www.cssps.gov.gh/hub/login, with a 24-hour support service available via the “Message” option to address concerns or discrepancies.
“The portal will remain active until September 8, 2025. We encourage all candidates to log in and confirm their selections before the deadline,” the notice stated.
GES also urged the public to provide feedback to help improve the placement system.
