In a major recognition of its pioneering role in Africa's digital transformation, Ghana is set to host the Africa Internet Summit 2025 (AIS’25) from September 29 to October 3, 2025.
The event, to be held at the Alisa Hotel-North Ridge, coincides with the momentous celebration of 30 years of the internet in Ghana, highlighting the nation's long-standing commitment to building a robust digital ecosystem.
The summit is co-hosted by the National Communications Authority (NCA) and Ghana Dot Com Ltd, under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology & Innovation.

This year’s theme, “A Resilient Internet Ecosystem for an Innovative Digital Africa”, will drive discussions on fortifying digital infrastructure across the continent, particularly in the face of evolving security threats and growing demands for connectivity.
AIS'25 is a pinnacle event for internet enthusiasts, technical professionals, policymakers, and business leaders across Africa.
Participants will engage in a week of learning and networking, with a program that includes technical coordination sessions, policy discussions, capacity-building workshops, and exhibitions.
This format is designed to directly benefit Ghanaian businesses, young innovators, and the broader technology ecosystem.
Minister for Communications, Digital Technology & Innovations,Sam George Nartey, expressed immense pride in Ghana's hosting rights.
"Hosting AIS’25 in Accra as we mark 30 years of Internet in Ghana is a proud moment for our nation. It reflects Ghana’s pioneering role in Africa’s digital journey and our unwavering commitment to building a resilient, data-driven and inclusive Internet ecosystem that empowers businesses, youth, and innovators for the future and socio-economic development of Ghana,” he stated.
Professor Nii Quaynor, AfNOG Convenor, often hailed as "Africa’s Father of the Internet" for his pivotal role in introducing the internet to Ghana in 1995, also underscored the event’s significance.
“Ghana’s early adoption of the Internet helped open doors for Africa’s digital growth. As AIS’25 comes to Accra, we celebrate Ghana’s contribution and invite young people, entrepreneurs, and innovators to take part in building the next 30 years of Africa’s Internet,” he said.
The summit is a collaborative effort organized by the African Network Operators Group (AfNOG), with support from Af Star (Af*) and a network of partners from across the internet ecosystem.
It provides a unique opportunity for Ghanaian stakeholders to interact with the global internet community, sharing insights and forging collaborations that will shape the future of digital innovation and socio-economic development across the continent.
