The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has pledged stronger support for Guinness Ghana as the company raises concerns over the surge in illegal imports affecting its operations.
Mr Madjie made the assurance when he hosted the new Managing Director of Guinness Ghana, Frederic Feraille, and his team in Accra. The discussions centred on Guinness Ghana’s operations, investment priorities, and the growing challenge of parallel imports- products brought into the country without paying the required taxes.

Commending Guinness Ghana for its long-standing contribution to Ghana’s industrial growth, Mr Madjie highlighted the company’s impact on job creation, agriculture, and national development.
He emphasised that GIPC is working closely with state agencies, including the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Food and Drugs Authority, to curb smuggling and safeguard government revenue.
The GIPC CEO also pointed to ongoing reforms designed to make Ghana’s investment climate more attractive, including streamlined processes for Technology Transfer Agreements, which now take between four and eight weeks instead of years.
For his part, Mr Feraille expressed appreciation for GIPC’s support and outlined Guinness Ghana’s plans to expand production capacity, strengthen the returnable glass bottle system, and deepen collaboration wityh government.
He noted that Guinness Ghana currently partners with over 44,000 farmers in the northern regions and sources more than 20,000 tonnes of sorghum annually.
