Serene Insurance Company Limited, a subsidiary of the First Sky Group, has earned double recognition in Ghana’s insurance industry, consolidating its position as the New Face of Insurance.
At the 5th Chartered Institute of Insurance Ghana (CIIG) Excellence Awards held at the Kempinski Hotel, Accra, the company’s Head of Claims, Mr Daniel Nunoo Otoo, was honoured with the prestigious Claims Professional of the Year 2024 award. The accolade recognises his unwavering commitment to timely claims payment, professionalism, and dedication to client satisfaction.
Reacting to the award, Mr Otoo said: “This recognition reflects not just my efforts, but the teamwork, leadership, and shared values at Serene Insurance. It strengthens my sense of purpose and motivates me to uphold the highest standards of claims management for the benefit of our clients and the industry.”
In a related achievement, Serene Insurance was also named Best Growing Insurance Company for the second consecutive year at the 8th Ghana Insurance Awards held at the Labadi Beach Hotel in August.

The company’s strong performance was highlighted by significant growth in gross written premiums, underwriting profit, branch expansion, agent networks, and improved claims settlement. These achievements add to a string of earlier recognitions, including Fastest Growing Insurance Company (2022) and multiple awards in 2024 for CEO of the Year, Emerging Brand of the Year, and CSR Leadership.
General Manager, Marketing and Business Development, Mr Nana Yaw Dwomoh, described the recognition as a validation of the company’s innovation-driven strategy.
“This award demonstrates our devotion to customer satisfaction, anchored on the belief that a satisfied client tells the Serene Insurance story best.”
Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Mercy Naa Koshie Boampong, commended the vision of the board and the loyalty of staff in driving the company’s unprecedented growth.
“Serene Insurance’s growth path and laurels are unmatched among new entrants in Ghana’s insurance sector,” she emphasised.
Since its inception in 2016 and official launch in 2018, Serene Insurance has built a strong reputation as one of the most capitalised players in Ghana’s insurance market, known for innovation, prompt claims settlement, and customer-focused products.
