The Governing Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has named Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, to act in the interim following directives from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
In a statement signed by Registrar and Secretary to Council, Gideon Inoch Abbeyquaye, the University said the decision was taken at an emergency council meeting on September 24, 2025.
The Council assured the University community, stakeholders, and the public that UCC remains stable despite the leadership changes.
It added that academic and administrative activities are continuing without disruption.
The decision has been formally communicated to the Chancellor, the Chairman of Council, the Director-General of GTEC, Prof. Aheto himself, and the Acting Director of Public Affairs.
