Southey Contracting Ltd, a fully indigenous company and a member of the Ensol Group, offering industrial engineering solutions to the mining, oil & gas, power generation, and industrial sectors, has successfully hosted its inaugural vendor day to strengthen local value chains.
The event, which took place at the Western Serene Hotel in Takoradi, brought together vendors such as Mengen Ghana Limited, Eff-Ess Co. Ltd, and i-Neema Ghana Limited, among others, to foster collaboration and align on key business standards.
The Vendor Day underscores Southey’s commitment to building robust partnerships with its supply chain, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring mutual adherence to high standards of quality, safety, and compliance for an efficient value chain.
General Manager of the Ensol Group Ltd, Ishmael Amegah, addressed the participants, urging cooperation and a cordial relationship among businesses for scalability and sustainability.
He reiterated the company's dedication to strengthening relationships among indigenous businesses.
“Our goal is to regularly engage with and provide periodic training for our vendor partners in critical areas like health and safety and sustainability. This initiative is central to our mission of augmenting the capacity of indigenous companies,” Mr. Amegah said.
The comprehensive programme covered essential aspects of Southey’s operations, including an overview of operational processes and service delivery standards; quality assurance and compliance requirements; and health, safety, and environment (HSE) protocols.
Others include procurement procedures and payment protocols; sustainability initiatives and corporate social responsibility; and the Petroleum Commission’s requirements and local content directives.
Vendors expressed their appreciation for the initiative, noting that Southey is the first indigenous company to organise such an informative engagement.
They pledged to implement the knowledge gained and looked forward to future collaborative sessions.
