The Black Satellites of Ghana set off their African U-20 Nations Cup campaign on a flying start beating their South African counterparts 2-0 in their opening Group B encounter in Senegal.
A Maphosa Modiba's own goal shot Ghana into an early lead in the first half before a flamboyant finish from Benjamin Tetteh in the 43rd minute ended the resolve of the Amajita side.
It was billed to be a cliffhanger of an encounter between the two sides but it turned out to be a stroll on the park for Silas Tetteh's side who disposed off the South African side with little effort.
M Aubrey was given an early shower in the 65th minute for a rash challenge, a decision that dealt a heavy blow on the South African side.
It is the Ghana side who now leads the group with maximum points. Zambia will play Mali in the second match of group B.
