The Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Gh) on Tuesday, November 11, officially inducted its Governing Council Committees, to assist the 11th Governing Council deliver on its mandate.
The newly formed committees include: Youth and SME Mentorship; Governance, Legal and Ethics; Technology, Research, Education and Membership Development; Audit, Risk and Compliance; and Disciplinary committees.
Speaking at a brief ceremony before the swearing-in of committee members, IoD-Gh President and Council Chairperson, Mrs. Mary Asare-Yeboah, described the move as “strategic, designed to significantly enhance our operational effectiveness and contribute to our long-term success.”

She emphasised that the primary aim is to “promote good corporate governance for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
Mrs. Asare-Yeboah added: “In our ever-evolving environment, the challenges we face require focused expertise and dedicated action. These committees represent our proactive approach to tackling complex issues and ensuring that we remain steadfast in pursuing our objectives.”
She urged the newly inducted members to excel in their roles, stating: “We, as Council, expect you to be the engines of our oversight functions, providing rigorous analyses, sound recommendations, and strategic guidance in your respective areas. Your work will be a cornerstone of our decision-making process, and we are counting on your diligent and insightful contributions.”

In his closing remarks, IoD-Gh Vice-President and Vice-Chair of the Governing Council, Mr. Michael Justice Ashong, called on the committees to leverage their collective experience.
“Working within your committees and collaboratively across others, your mandate is critical. I urge you to apply yourselves assiduously in fulfilling these responsibilities.”
