Gospel singer Ceccy Twum has opened up about her struggle to create social media trends for her newly released songs.
Unlike many of her colleagues, the majority of whom have embraced online trends to promote their music, Ceccy admits she finds it difficult to do the same.
According to her, despite several attempts to join in, she hasn’t been successful, which has led her to accept that she may not be like others.
Although she wishes she could create skits and other promotional content for her songs, Ceccy noted that her music is already well-known and continues to reach listeners. This, she said, strengthens her belief that not all individuals are the same.
The “Me Nyame Aye Awie” hitmaker made these remarks in an interview on Joy Prime’s “Changes” show with Roselyn Felli, while responding to a question about why she doesn’t create skits to promote her songs.
“It’s their style and everybody can’t be the same and so when I see my sisters and brothers doing it, it’s beautiful; I wish I can but that’s not me. If I do it wouldn’t work. I wish I could be that bubbly and all fun but that’s not my thing. I always feel shy,” she expressed.
The “Me Ko Me Ho A” singer further revealed that her inability to create online trends sometimes affects her confidence, admitting that her upbringing has also played a major role in shaping her current lifestyle.
Despite the rapid growth of social media and its importance as a promotional tool for gospel artistes, Ceccy Twum appears reluctant to readjust and adapt to the trend to boost the reach of her music.
“My team members are even tired of me. Even posting my own ministration on social media is a problem. Sometimes, they take my phone and do the posting themselves.”
She does not demonize the platform but cautions people to tread carefully, noting that social media can have both positive and negative impacts.
