Afrobeats singer, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has said prayers alone won’t save Nigeria.
He insisted that until citizens began taking proactive actions, the country wouldn’t change for the better.
“No Jesus, no Allah, no prayer is saving us. Nothing changes until we wake TF up,” he wrote on his X handle on Thursday.
The singer made the comment against the backdrop of both Christian and Islamic clerics calling for prayers for Nigeria amid the escalating insecurity and economic hardship in the country.
Other celebrities such as Don Jazzy, Davido, Falz, Mr Macaroni, among others, have also reacted to the recent terrorist attack on a church in Kwara and kidnap of school girls in Kebbi state, calling on the relevant authorities to take urgent actions.
Singer Yemi Alade on Wednesday voiced out her stance against the call for foreign intervention in the insecurity in the country, arguing that “African problems need African solutions, not new problem.”
