The Ghana Police Service has apprehended three suspects in the Eastern Region following the circulation of a disturbing video showing a two-year-old child being forced to consume an alcoholic beverage.
The arrests, which took place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, are the result of an intensive intelligence-led operation by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.
The incident occurred in Kade, sparking widespread outrage across social media platforms and prompting immediate police intervention to secure the safety of the minor.
The operation was carried out in the suburb of Okumani, where officers closed in on three individuals directly linked to the video:
- Stephen Amoako (22): Identified as the father of the two-year-old victim.
- Tawiah Precious (18): Known by the alias "T’ Moni".
- Emmanuel Dadzie (24): Also known as "Shapiro".
All three suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned before the court shortly.
Meanwhile, the search continues for two additional suspects, Afram Bright (alias Mogabe) and Panyin, who remain at large.
In a swift move to ensure the child’s wellbeing, the two-year-old victim has been rescued by authorities.
The toddler was handed over to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Asamankese.
"The victim has been handed over for protection, pending reunification with the mother," stated Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in a press release.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of children and warned that it will not hesitate to use its cyber vetting capabilities to track down those who record or partake in the abuse of minors.
The public is encouraged to report any further information regarding the whereabouts of the two fleeing suspects to the nearest police station.
