Giiks Game City (GGC) has announced the launch of the maiden edition of the GGC Esports Hall of Fame, an initiative aimed at recognising esports players in Ghana through a fan-based selection process.
The Hall of Fame will assess participants not only on competitive performance but also on the level of public support they are able to attract. According to organisers, the model places emphasis on fan engagement as a core element of qualification, reflecting the growing role of audience participation in esports competitions.

Participation in the inaugural edition begins with self-nomination, with gamers registering under a Gamer ID or stage name. Fans then nominate their preferred players through an official platform, and the eight most-nominated gamers advance to the Hall of Fame Tournament.
The tournament will be played in stages, starting with a group phase, followed by the semifinals and the final. Cash prizes will be awarded at each stage of the competition. The eventual winner will receive GHS 2,000, while the runner-up will earn GHS 1,200, with total earnings influenced by match results across the tournament.
Organisers say the Hall of Fame is intended to contribute to the formalisation and visibility of esports in Ghana, as competitive gaming continues to grow locally.
