A Ho Magistrate Court has remanded Godsway Dogbey into police custody over an alleged possession of narcotic substances intercepted through an intelligence-led operation.
Dogbey’s plea was not taken, and he is expected to reappear in court on February 5.
Prosecuting, Sergeant Michael Kasey told the court, presided over by Mr Albert Annor Owusu, that the accused was arrested on January 23 along the Fume Enclave–Ho–Sogakope route, identified as the final delivery point of the consignment.
He said police intercepted 2,028 parcels of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, with an estimated street value of GH¢1,022,500.
According to the prosecutor, the accused denied ownership of the consignment and mentioned another person, also called Godsway and believed to be from Kpando, as the owner of the suspected narcotic substances.
The court remanded Dogbey into police custody for ten days to aid investigations and urged him to cooperate fully with the police.
