The Deputy Chief of Staff, Stan Dogbe, has issued a public apology following an incident involving a military officer at the Ghana Military Academy on January 30.

In a Facebook post, Mr Dogbe apologised to Corporal Ofosu after physically pushing him away during the event, explaining that the action occurred after the officer repeatedly disrupted the work of a live camera operator covering the ceremony.

“This is to apologise to my friend, Cpl Ofosu, for physically pushing him away after his repeated disruption of a live camera operator during today’s ceremony,” Mr Dogbe wrote.

He acknowledged that his actions were inappropriate and expressed confidence that the apology would be accepted by the officer and other security personnel involved.

Mr Dogbe described Corporal Ofosu and other members of the security services as friends, noting that the incident would not undermine their working relationship.

He stressed the need for improved cooperation and coordination between civilian officials and security personnel during public events.

“I know he and my other friends in uniform will accept my apology as we work to enhance and improve our existing collaboration at events,” the Deputy Chief of Staff added.

The incident, which occurred in full public view, attracted attention on social media, prompting discussions about protocol, crowd control and the conduct of public officials at state functions.
